PEIT / PEIF / PISA

Superior stiffness and glass transition temperature to PET, and amorphous where most biobased plastics are not, which is what gives the transparency and shape stability glass replacement needs. Built for reusable applications.

100% BIOBASED / RECYCLED PILOT PLANT, TRL 6

Glass gives a brand the feel it wants and a supply chain the weight it does not.
PEIF and PISA give the clarity and the barrier without the mass, and they run on the equipment the packaging industry already owns.

What it is.

Biobased content

100% biobased or recycled

Appearance

Clear

Oxygen barrier

PISA blocks 7× more oxygen than PET

Processability

Good, on existing PET equipment

Weight vs glass

Far lighter. Polyester is about 1.4 g/cm³ against 2.5 for glass

End of life

Technically recyclable

Where it goes.

The bottle on the shelf

Luxury packaging, with the clarity and feel of glass at half the weight.
Luxury productsBottles and jars that have to read as glass in the hand.
Glass containersRigid packaging where weight and breakage cost money.
Barrier packagingContents that need oxygen protection over shelf life.
Rigid packagingFormats already tooled for PET.

Seven batches of PEIT and PEIF have been produced at 200 L pilot scale, and a colour-control programme is running ahead of first commercial delivery. Any material can be made available from our own pilot plant at ~50 kg scale.
