Public funding
Co-financing Parana Materials.
Two publicly co-financed projects support the scale-up of Parana's polyesters and the application development around them.
Just Transition Fund and LIOF.
The Just Transition Fund supports regions whose economies have to move away from carbon-intensive industry. For South Limburg it is administered by Stimulus Programmamanagement. LIOF is the regional development company for Limburg and co-finances the same project.
Aim. To drive innovation in new biobased and circular polyesters that can replace fossil-based performance materials and engineering plastics. By investing in infrastructure for initial scale-up and application development, the project addresses a missing link in the scale-up of these materials, and creates new, sustainable jobs and skills at Chemelot.
DEI+ Biobased Circular.
The Netherlands Enterprise Agency runs the DEI+ scheme for demonstration projects in energy and climate innovation, as part of the National Growth Fund programme BioBased Circular.
Aim. To take Parana's biobased polyesters from laboratory to pilot scale, and to establish what it takes to produce them reproducibly outside a research setting. The project is carried out with Maastricht University, and results that are not commercially sensitive are shared with the field.
